About This Journal
The Oxford Review of Economic Policy (OXREP) is one of the world's leading journals at the intersection of academic economics and economic policymaking. Published by Oxford Scholarly Press, OXREP brings together leading economists and policymakers to examine pressing economic issues through themed issues and standalone articles. Known for making rigorous economic analysis accessible to a broad audience of policymakers, civil servants, and informed citizens, OXREP occupies a unique niche between technical academic economics and policy-focused commentary.
Aims & Scope
OXREP publishes accessible, policy-relevant economic analysis on topics including:
• Macroeconomic policy: monetary policy, fiscal policy, and macroprudential regulation
• Labour markets and employment policy: minimum wages, unemployment insurance, and active labour market policies
• Competition policy and regulation: industrial organisation, market power, and regulatory design
• International trade and globalisation: trade agreements, supply chains, and global governance
• Climate and environmental economics: carbon pricing, energy transition, and green industrial policy
• Health economics: health system financing, pharmaceutical pricing, and health inequalities
• Finance and financial regulation: banking regulation, financial stability, and FinTech
• Development economics: poverty reduction, institutional reform, and aid effectiveness
• Public finance: taxation, public expenditure, and fiscal sustainability
Most issues are thematic, edited by guest editors. Both technical academic articles and policy-focused essays are welcome.
